LX450 Trailer lighting connector
The vulnerable bolt-on 2 inch receiver comes off with 4 easily accessible large Grade 8 bolts. It's not rated for towing, but my trailer fully loaded is only about 650 pounds, so I don't worry about that technicality. I saw no reason for the trailer lighting connector to be vulnerable to being scraped off on a rock, so I mounted it up high in front of the rear cross-member. I had to install a longer harness on the trailer to reach it, but the wires tuck up very nicely, with the slack lying on top of the ball mount and receiver. It's only a little harder to hook and unhook. A very neat and tidy solution.
