LX450 Mudflap Extensions
With a 3 inch lift I felt that the
factory mudflaps were no longer adequate to keep rocks and winter deicing
chemicals off my trailer. I fabricated extensions from 1/8 inch mudflap
material, available for about US$1.00 per square foot from a local rubber
supplier. The new extensions hang down 5 inches below the factory units, and
they are flexible enough to withstand considerable abuse. As the picture shows,
they will drag off-road, and I plan to remove the entire mudflaps F and R if
necessary to prevent ripping them out of the flares.
