2006 Dirty Face Dual Sport Ride. Lake Wenatchee, WA: The ride was nearly 150 miles long and only 10 or so miles of it were paved. The rest were twisty, steep, rutted, recently washed out, cobby forest roads and doubletrack, with a few miles of optional easy singletrack for the A riders. There was no C course, so the riders of big dual sport bikes and the two Ural sidecar rigs had to work very hard. The weather was superb – crisp air with great visibility. It was just warm enough for MX gear. The incessant rain from the last two weeks was history, except for the many mud-over-roadway closures that forced frantic last minute route changes Friday evening. Rain drains off the mountains fast, though, so there wasn’t much standing water. A full compliment of 180 riders left the starting area beside the Lake Wenatchee emergency airstrip starting at about 8:30 am, with a tentative deadline of 5:00 pm. Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club: Dirty Face Dual Sport 2007 Info The flyer and entry forms for the '07 Dirty Face are now available! Sign up soon so you don't miss out! Many were turned away late last Spring.
