Orlando,
Florida/ Disney World Vacation - Feb 2009 IN PROGRESS

John got a little nuts at the Kennedy
Space Center gift shop.
Mimi and Lee took John and Jac to the well known biker bar Sleepy Hollow, in the
swamp NW of Bushnell.
Detail of the map above, showing location.
If you ate outside in back, you had a choice of rib-eye steak, corn on the cob
and baked potato for $5 per person. That was all your choices.... but it was
really good.
Mimi graciously paid for an airboat ride. Lee had to stay onshore since the boat
could only carry three passengers. The water level was very low due to a
multi-year drought, so we were limited in the places the boat could go. It was
powered by a 509 cu in big block Chevy with 600 bhp.... ;) John had to turn his
ball cap backwards gangsta fashion to keep it from blowing off, and we all had
to wear hearing protection.
Later I asked Mimi what happens if
the hull hits a submerged snag or rock at speed. The answer is not pleasant -
there were no seat belts. But there were lots of aligators.
The lingerie tree - all women are requested to leave an intimate article of
clothing. Jac and Mimi declined. Near here, John managed to catch a gleaming
black hornet on the sleeve of his fleece windbreaker - it was about the size of
his thumb. Fortunately it only stung fabric - it was really pissed off
When we left the dock there were no other airboats. When we got back, three more
had arrived for steak and beer.
All three are smaller and powered by aircraft engines.
Mimi had parked her car in a near empty lot, but it got surrounded by bikes
while we were away. She maneuvered around them without provoking any nasty
incidents.
